The Big EZ Lodge

About Us

When husband and wife team Steve Hicks and Donna Stockton-Hicks built the Big EZ lodge they wanted to find a meeting point of old western charm and modern luxury. They started with finding the perfect location. Sitting peacefully at 7500 feet elevation, the Lodge overlooks the stunning view of the Gallatin Mountain Range. It is minutes away from Big Sky Ski Resort, and only 30 minutes away from the West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

Local talent and materials played an integral part in building the Lodge. The exterior was built with Lodgepole Pines that were taken from the property. The Hicks knew that in order to get the feeling they wanted they had to start with well-known local architect Frank Cikan, whose love and knowledge of the land is evident in his use of the stunning views as a part of the Lodge’s atmosphere. Stonemason Bill Ward lived on property for three years to create amazing stone fireplaces and accents that are art in themselves.

Throughout the Lodge you can find pieces of the Hick’s private and ever growing art collection. Oils by Nelson Boren and Beth Loftin are featured in the main building. Their collection of pottery by Sandra Blain and Peter Hayes are on display in all the buildings.

A true sanctuary, the Big EZ Lodge is a uniquely beautiful, uniquely private retreat. It has been created as the ideal setting for adventurous play and peaceful solitude.
